Overview

At Shure, we’re in search of a dynamic and visionary individual to lead our key Environmental Product Compliance and Sustainability initiatives across the globe. Driven by data, you will have an impact on new and existing products to align with our sustainability initiatives across the globe.

 

As the Manager Environmental Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the environmental compliance of our products throughout the product life-cycle. This includes ensuring adherence to national and international environmental regulations, managing environmental compliance programs, and implementing sustainable practices to minimize the environmental impact of our products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, supply chain, legal, and manufacturing, to ensure our products meet all applicable environmental requirements. 

 

This position can be performed hybrid from our Niles HQ office, or remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Environmental Compliance Business Strategy and Roadmap
  • Manage the work efforts of Environmental Compliance staff, including making staffing decisions, overseeing performance management, & performance appraisals
  • Responsible for the delivery Environmental Compliance requirements for both New Product Development (NPD), and legacy Maintenance of Line (MOL) product initiatives
  • Monitor and interpret relevant environmental regulations, standards, and directives such as ROHS, REACH, WEEE, Prop 65, PFAS, EPR, Eco-Design, EU-Batteries, and sustainability requirements
  • Highlights business continuity risks for owned areas of environmental compliance & collaborates with cross-functional teams to promote and educate requirements. Will develop & update internal processes, policies, and procedures in accordance with environmental & sustainability requirements.
  • Responsible for the monitoring, promotion, and education of environmental compliance requirements to business stakeholders, and generate regular reports on compliance status.
  • Engage often with stakeholders to gain resource assignments, complete work, and to maintain the integrity of compliance across the product’s life-cycle. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Master’s Degree is highly desired.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in product environmental compliance program management, process improvement within a high-tech company or product area
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, & exceptionally strong acumen for strategic execution
  • Demonstrated technical expertise on environmental product compliance and global market access best-practices
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and test methodologies related to the industry
  • Demonstrated evidence of passing compliance audits
  • Ability to demonstrate previous deliverables with strategic importance on department initiatives
  • Ability to handle the day-to-day management/prioritization of tasks, resolution of problems and issues, and experience in implementing action plans to meet objectives
  • Some travel up to 10% (or depending on hybrid location) will be required

PAY TRANSPARENCY
Shure offers a competitive compensation structure that is reviewed annually to attract, hire, and retain the industry’s top talent. Base salaries vary based on qualifications, geography, experience, and expertise in each respective discipline. The base salary range for this position is between $115,300 - $235,700. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for this opportunity. This position may also be eligible for our incentive pay program, which varies based on individual and Company performance in the year. If your salary expectations do not align, still apply as we are often flexible on the seniority of posted positions. All positions also include an award-winning benefits package.
