Our team in Wheeling, IL, is searching for a Materials Handler II with forklift experience to help maintain the efficient flow of goods in our operations. Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will:

    • Load and Unload Trucks: Utilize proper material handling equipment, including forklifts, to efficiently manage incoming shipments.
    • Inspect Incoming Shipments: Follow C-TPAT procedures to check overseas containers thoroughly.
    • Maintain Inventory Levels: Ensure assigned areas have appropriate stock levels, minimizing shortages or overages.
    • Verify Incoming Materials: Use hand counts or electronic scales to check and document the amounts of incoming material.
    • Move Materials: Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to relocate stock within our facility.
    • Perform Cycle Counts: Regularly conduct cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
    • Store Stock Properly: Place stock in designated locations and report any changes in inventory location.
    • Accurate Picking: Accurately pick materials for orders, confirming counts either manually or with electronic scales.
    • Other Duties: Embrace a flexible approach by performing additional assignments as needed.

Qualifications

To join our team as a Materials Handler II, you should possess the following:

  • Education:
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical Abilities:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
  • Skills and Certifications:
    • Forklift certification and at least 2 years of forklift operating experience.
    • Understanding and compliance with all C-TPAT procedures.
    • Commitment to good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, showcasing the ability to handle moderately complex assignments.
    • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills to make recommendations and resolve issues effectively.
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision, while comfortably handling new instructions for unfamiliar tasks.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

Shure offers a competitive compensation structure that is reviewed annually to attract, hire, and retain the industry’s top talent. Base salaries vary based on qualifications, geography, experience, and expertise in each respective discipline. The base salary range for this position is between $36,100 - $60,500, with a target of $43,000 base. Additional premiums may be offered for forklift drivers and based on shift. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for this opportunity. If your salary expectations do not align, still apply as we are often flexible on the seniority of posted positions. All positions also include an award-winning benefits package.
