The Materials Supervisor will oversee the Associates who facilitate goods receipts, replenish materials to production lines, and ship materials to company plants and business units. This role will be onsite in our Wheeling, IL - Regional Distribution Center. 

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Supervise and Train Personnel: Oversee stockroom personnel, ensuring they are adequately trained to perform their duties efficiently. 
  • Manage Material Flow: Supervise the accurate and timely receiving and issuing of materials in and out of the stockroom.
  • Maintain Inventory Accuracy: Implement processes to maintain and improve inventory accuracy and make recommendations for procedural improvements. 
  • Ensure Equipment Safety: Ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe and proper working condition. 
  • Administer Reports and Records: Issue and maintain necessary department reports and records. 
  • Appraise Employee Performance: Evaluate Associate performance, and make recommendations on staffing, transfers, salary increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions. 
  • Perform Other Duties: Embrace a flexible approach by performing individual tasks related to the unit and additional assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of warehousing experience.
  • At least 5 years of forklift operating experience and forklift certification.
  • Working knowledge of material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work on assignments that are subject to moderate review.
  • Familiarity with ISO requirements and documentation.
  • Ability to follow established practices and procedures when analyzing situations or data.
  • Ability to direct subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
  • Capability to provide immediate supervision to unit, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules.
  • Expected to spend a portion of time performing individual tasks related to the unit.
  • Basic knowledge of computers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong coaching and team-leading abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

Shure offers a competitive compensation structure that is reviewed annually to attract, hire, and retain the industry’s top talent. Base salaries vary based on qualifications, geography, experience, and expertise in each respective discipline. The base salary range for this position is between $36,100 - $60,500, with a target of $43,000 base. Additional premiums may be offered for forklift drivers and based on shift. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for this opportunity. If your salary expectations do not align, still apply as we are often flexible on the seniority of posted positions. All positions also include an award-winning benefits package.
