The Lead Developer will play a key role in driving Sitecore development and implementing composable architectures, headless CMS solutions, API integrations, and platform migrations. This position also provides strategic guidance to the Front-End team, ensuring alignment with Sitecore best practices and contributing to the broader digital ecosystem strategy. The role includes offering technical leadership, mentoring team members, conducting code reviews, and promoting consistency and excellence in web development practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of Sitecore-based systems and other web systems, ensuring high performance, scalability, security, and alignment with business goals.
  • Architect and implement composable and headless CMS solutions using modern, decoupled architectures tailored for scalability and flexibility.
  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs to integrate Sitecore for seamless integration across various platforms, including internal tools, third-party platform services, and enterprise systems such as PIM, DAM, CRM (e.g., Salesforce), CDP, and analytics platforms.
  • Oversee and manage complex Sitecore content and system migrations, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
  • Integrate other Sitecore products, such as Content Hub, Personalize, CDP, Search, Stream, etc., to support cross-channel digital experiences.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to deploy and optimize serverless applications via Vercel, enabling globally distributed, high-performance content delivery.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines (Vercel and others) to streamline development workflows, enhance code quality, and reduce time-to-market.
  • Define and enforce back-end development best practices, coding standards, platform security, and maintainability guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Sitecore, composable architecture, headless CMS, APIs, and Vercel-based deployments.
  • Contribute to architectural planning, solution design, and technical reviews to ensure platform consistency and roadmap alignment.
  • Mentor team members on backend development patterns, Sitecore modular architecture, and API-first approaches.
  • Collaborate closely with front-end and content teams to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability without contributing UI implementation or styling.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technology-related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of proven hands-on experience in Sitecore development (Sitecore XP, Sitecore XM, Sitecore Experience Edge, XM Cloud) and other CMS technologies.
  • Proven experience architecting composable solutions, implementing headless CMS, and managing decoupled content delivery at scale.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with composable architectures, headless CMS, and decoupled content delivery.
  • Advanced expertise in API development and integration (RESTful, GraphQL, etc.), with a deep understanding of web services and microservices architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Sitecore migrations, including content, assets, and integrations, from legacy systems to Sitecore environments.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and optimizing solutions on Vercel; familiarity with edge functions and serverless architecture.
  • Proficiency in modern backend technologies including C#, .NET for scalable enterprise applications.
  • Working knowledge of cloud environments (Azure preferred), and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure as code.
  • Solid understanding of performance optimization, platform security, and scalability best practices.
  • Familiarity with modern e-commerce ecosystems and integrations (e.g., Sitecore Commerce, Shopify).
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, fostering a positive, inclusive work environment and contributing to team goals and success.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, designers, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment on deliverables, timelines, and quality standards.
