Overview

Shure is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Product Manager to own the WaveTool application – a key software offering within Shure’s platform product ecosystem. This role is ideal for a product manager who thrives at the intersection of user experience, software development, and professional audio technology.

In your role as Software Product Manager you will be responsible for defining requirements, collaborating with engineering and design, managing the product backlog, and ensuring the application delivers exceptional value to Shure’s customers. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role with meaningful opportunity to shape a product at the core of Shure’s software strategy.

This role is hybrid, and based in our Niles, IL location.

Responsibilities

  • Define, maintain, and prioritize the WaveTool product backlog, translating customer needs and strategic objectives into clear, actionable user stories and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a near-term product roadmap that balances new device support, new feature delivery, technical debt, and platform integration needs.
  • Write detailed product requirements, acceptance criteria, and feature specifications in collaboration with engineering and UX teams.
  • Partner closely with software engineering, QA, and UX/design teams throughout the development cycle to ensure on-time, high-quality feature delivery.
  • Coordinate with platform, firmware, and hardware product teams to ensure WaveTool integrates seamlessly within the broader Shure ecosystem.
  • Engage with marketing and sales stakeholders to support go-to-market planning, product positioning, and customer-facing communications for WaveTool releases.
  • Serve as a primary voice of the customer for WaveTool, gathering insights through user research, field testing, support escalations, and direct customer engagement.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to benchmark WaveTool against alternative solutions and identify differentiating opportunities.
  • Identify, frame, and prioritize key product questions to be answered through data analytics and instrumentation.
  • Ensure WaveTool aligns with Shure’s platform strategy, including ShureCloud integration, security standards, and connectivity requirements.
  • Support interoperability with third-party systems and contribute to platform-level consistency across the Shure device portfolio.
  • Define release criteria and collaborate with QA to ensure WaveTool releases meet Shure’s quality standards.
  • Monitor post-launch performance and coordinate rapid response to critical bugs or user experience issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, computer science, engineering or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of product management experience, with at least 2 years managing software applications or SaaS products.
  • Demonstrated experience writing product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in an Agile development environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear product decisions.
  • Proficiency with requirements management, backlog tracking, and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or similar).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused mindset with experience conducting user research and synthesizing customer feedback into product decisions.
  • Familiarity with professional audio systems, AV technology, or Shure’s product portfolio.
  • Experience with desktop or mobile application product management.
  • Understanding of software licensing models, including perpetual, subscription, and AaaS (Application as a Service).
  • Exposure to network connectivity, cloud platforms, or device management solutions.
  • Experience with data analytics tools and a demonstrated ability to define meaningful product metrics and KPIs.
  • Ability to work across global time zones, including occasional early morning or evening collaboration with teams in Asia and Europe.
