Shure is hiring for a Manager, Strategic Market Development. In this role, you will be dedicated to identifying and quantifying new global market opportunities by combining market insight, customer voice, and application-level expertise. You will play a critical part in helping the organization understand where growth exists, why it matters, and how to pursue it successfully by translating customer workflows, use cases, and buying dynamics into clear commercial opportunities. The position supports global visibility of customer needs, strengthens industry relationships, and improves the organization’s ability to align market opportunity, solution positioning, and sales execution across regions and teams.

 

Strategic Market Development is a global function that collaborates closely with Shure’s Regional Market Development teams, Global Product Management, Solutions, Marketing, and Sales leaders to convert market and application insight into scalable growth strategies, opportunity narratives, and field-ready commercial guidance.

 

This role can be remote within the U.S., reporting to our Niles, IL HQ office. 

Responsibilities

• Serve as the voice of the customer by providing impartial, data-based analysis of global trends, workflows, and unmet needs across priority applications, end-user environments, and buying scenarios.

• Stay ahead of trends and external influences, continuously identifying and quantifying new market and application-led growth opportunities

• Translate market, customer, and application insight into clear opportunity narratives and commercially relevant guidance. Collaborate closely with GM, GPM, Strategy & Innovation, PDD, CMI, Business Analytics, Solutions, Marketing, and local sales teams to ensure alignment between market opportunity, positioning, and execution. 

• Partner with regional Market Development teams, Regional Product Managers, and sales leaders through structured engagements to activate identified opportunities, support strategic pursuit efforts, and share repeatable best practices globally. 

• Establish touchpoints internally and externally to ensure cohesion and consistency across divisions and regions. Represent Shure with global professional bodies, associations, and key market ecosystems, while gathering feedback from field teams and external stakeholders to assess scalable global opportunities. 

• Provide efficient access to end-user, workflow, and market information that improves field readiness, supports trials and strategic seeding, and strengthens application-specific value positioning to optimize impact and ROI. 

• Research and help expand sales channels, partner ecosystems, and commercial pathways for Shure solutions, maximizing market reach and accessibility.

• Develop and share repeatable plays, messaging approaches, and partnership insights that improve opportunity pursuit and support global adoption of successful market development strategies. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Audio, Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic market development, business development, application engineering, solution selling, product marketing, or a similar role with a global focus.
  • Experience in the audio industry, professional technology, conferencing, collaboration, broadcast, live production, content creation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, customer workflows, use cases, and buying dynamics across regions and complex B2B environments.
  • Demonstrates a proactive and accountable mindset, enabling the successful completion of tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret market, customer, and application insight to identify growth opportunities and trends.
  • Proven ability to translate technical or application knowledge into clear commercial opportunities, practical sales guidance, and scalable growth strategies.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English, with the ability to simplify complexity and effectively engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management, marketing, solutions, and regional sales organizations.
  • Knowledge of sales channels, partner ecosystems, and go-to-market motions, with the ability to expand and optimize commercial reach.
  • Familiarity with global user communities, industry associations, and customer ecosystems, and the ability to establish strong market presence and partnerships.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support global market development initiatives, with a minimum expectation of 25% travel.

 

PAY TRANSPARENCY

Shure offers a competitive compensation structure that is reviewed annually to attract, hire, and retain the industry’s top talent. Salaries vary based on qualifications, location, experience, and expertise in each respective discipline. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salary for the opportunity. The salary for this position ranges from $109,400 to $186,000, with a midpoint target. This position may also be eligible for our incentive pay program, which varies based on individual and Company performance in the year. If your salary expectations do not align, still apply as we might be flexible on the seniority of posted positions. All positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
